LLC les aides contre l'immuno dépression

Souvent la conséquence de la LLC est l'immunodépression d'une part due a la maladie d'autre part aux traitement.

La vitamine D3

 Cette étude tend a montrer que la vitamine D3 a des effets favorable pour luter contre les infections respiratoires chez les personnes qui sont immunodéprimés et qui ont des infections respiratoires supérieures au standard. Mais cette étude est sur un trop faible nombre de cas pour qu'elle ait une valeur certaine. D'autre part la vitamine D3 peut avoir des effets secondaires dangereux quand l'administration n'est pas controlée médicalement.
   Il faut noter que les huiles de poissons a cause des omega 3 ont un effet anticoagulant, alors si vous avez de problèmes de plaquette abstenez vous sans un avis médical compétent.

Une particularité de la molécule est le fait que le nombre de globule blanc augmente rapidement au début du traitement et ensuite diminue lentement

By now, most patients are aware that in CLL, taking ibrutinib or idelalisib causes the white blood cells to go up and then slowly drift back down. Meanwhile the lymph nodes rapidly shrink and stay down. This is because the cells are merely getting shuffled around from a place where they are happy (lymph nodes and bone marrow) to the blood (where they are unhappy). Starting these drugs do not really eradicate a ton of cells right away though over time the cancer cells die off (death by neglect – a topic for another time).

L'essai clinique pour une population "refractory" n'a pas montré d'amélioration significative par rapport au traitement de référence.

The Phase III study of ofatumumab (Arzerra(tm)) versus physicians' choice in patients with bulky fludarabine-refractory chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) did not meet its primary endpoint of progression free survival (PFS). The median PFS, as assessed by the Independent Review Committee, was 5.36 months for ofatumumab and 3.61 months for physicians' choice.

"Although ofatumumab performed broadly in-line with previous data, today's result is disappointing. Based on this result, we do not anticipate applying for a label expansion for ofatumumab in this specific refractory CLL population," said Jan van de Winkel, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Genmab
